Bishop Joe N. Brown was born and raised in  Furman Alabama. He received his early education in the Wilcox County School System graduation in 1978. On July 5th 1980 he married his high school sweetheart First Lady Geneva W. Brown; they recently celebrated their 36th
wedding Anniversary. He is the proud father of two children (Derick and Teress Brown) one daugther in-law (Tamara Brown) and three grandchildren. Bishop Brown's walk with the Lord began when he was 18 year old when he became a member of Zion Rest Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon at the age of 22. He later heard the call to Holiness and the doctrine of baptism in the name of Jesus in September 1982. After receiving the Baptism of the Holy Ghost he became a born again member of Christian Grace Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop James Marshall. Bishop Brown was ordained deacon and in 1984 he answered the call of God into the ministry. In September 1994 he became founder of New Hope Apostolic Church where he avidly defends the original Apostolic doctrine. Bishop Brown was ordained Bishop in February 2008. Bishop Brown is a visionary, in 2005 he saw the need to build a Community Center (New Hope Community Center). The Community Center has been a blessing to many in the Selma, Dallas Co. and surrounding areas, especially Camp Hope Summer Camp each year. In 2007, Bishop Brown saw the need for new growth. The present sanctuary was getting too small for New Hope growing ministry. Bishop Brown met with the board members; after meeting with the board, sharing his vision with them and sharing it with the members; his vision of turning a 10400 q ft building (part of which was a Historical House) into a 500 seat sanctuary  was completed. (TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!)
In 2013, Bishop Brown saw the need for a Daycare and Learnig Center. In August of 2013 the DayCare had its ribbon cutting. (New Hope Wee Care DayCare and Learning Center). The vision is to have a Mission Home (New Hope Mission Home). Bishop Brown is a visionary that continually seeks for souls to come worship God.
